Dialogue Festival
The Dialogue Festival is a showcase of all the community projects the first year Leadership students have been leading and supporting. We each got assigned a project and a co-leader and had to create original material to be performed at the Guildhall concert hall, Milton Court.
Together with classmate and flutist Jana Tiel I worked with year 5 of the Rendal Cremer Primary School. Over the course of a month we created an amazing piece with them based on the festival theme Compass Rose, which made us think and write about direction, being lost and home. The piece included an instrumental soundscape, a rap, a cannon and a lot of dancing. |
Besides my own project I assisted on projects Keep Montserrat Alive (a ladies choir from woman form the Caribbean), a choir of Women from The Arbour (an organisation which promotes education for immigrant women), an incredible orchestra of young people (Future Band) and (Im)possibillities (a free jazz band). Other projects that performed in the festival included The Messengers (a group from the St Mungo's homeless charity), and an ensemble from MenCap (a charity for people with learning disabilities). |
