Pronkstukken

Pronkstukken is a project facilitated by TivoliVredenbrug and Utrecht Centrum van de Kunst. Inspired by the classical FridayConcert of AVROTROS students from high schools in and around Utrecht create their own composition with a final performance in TivoliVredenburg.

In the first video you see 27 Students from the Goois Lyceum, Bussem. They made their own piece inspired by composer Skrjabin and fascinated by Jurgen van Harskamp and me, March 2017.

In the second video you see the October project were we worked with 65 students from the Amadeus Lyceum, Leidsche rijn. Together with workshop leaders Maite van der Marel and Peter Sambros I created new work with the students for 4 intensive days inspired by Duruflé's Requiem and Del Iubilo Del Core Che Esce in Voce by Happener. Because of the chaotic sounds of Happener and the religious feel of the rest of the program we  decided to use The Tower of Babel as our theme. 

​The students made some amazing drum, vocal, instrumental and electronic work. The independence and strong leadership within the group made it a very relaxed concert for me with moments where I could just sit back, listen, enjoy the music and follow the amazing student conductors.
